On 14th and 15th October 2017 you are invited to join us for the second Flavours Food Festival, set in the historic conservation village of Elsecar.
The village, attracting over 440,000 visitors a year, is rich in history and character. Today it is home to a series of independent craftsmen and retailers as well as a heritage railway. The site is located a mere 2 miles from junction 36 of the M1 and is well signposted
This spectacular two day event will see our unique historical site transformed into a bustling food and drink and craft market, offering a wide variety of tasty treats and creative displays.
Alongside stalls and street food, we will also be welcoming a very special guest. Seating over 250 people in the specially constructed grand arena, you will have the opportunity to see celebrity chef Nadiya Hussain. She will be demonstrating a selection of personal recipes, which you can recreate at home. Other local chefs will also be demonstrating throughout the weekend.
Inside the Ironworks, our versatile events space, approximately 60 local and national food producers will set out their wares. Here, you can browse, sample and even begin your Christmas shopping. Adjacent to this space will be a craft area of approximately 60 exhibitors.
Outside in the Old Works Yard there will be a large selection of tempting street food. This area will be open until 9pm on Saturday so visitors can enjoy live music, craft ale, prosecco, cocktails and street food. You will also have the opportunity to explore the Earl Fitzwilliam's Workshops (a series of independent shops, antiques centre, play area and quaint cafes). Feel free to look and discover exclusive and unexpected treasures.
We are looking for exhibitors specialising in the following categories:
- Food and Beverage products (Ironworks area)
- Street Food (Outside area)
- Food related businesses (Ironworks area)
- Catering businesses (Outside area)
- Craft / Artisan businesses (large marquee)
- Street entertainers / musicians (roaming)
All exhibitors inside the Ironworks will be provided with a stand (see attached picture). Exhibitors booking outside of the Ironworks are expected to provide their own marquee or trailer as well as tables. Diesel generators will need to be provided by street food vendors as there are no electric points in the area.
Opening times are: Saturday 10am - 6pm (Ironworks and craft exhibitors) 9pm for street catering (outside area); Sunday 10am - 5pm
Marquees are to be of good solid construction, weighted down correctly. They must also be fire retardant to the current BS standard.
Exhibitors need to provide a risk assessment and a copy of their public liability insurance. If booking a space outside of the Ironworks, the risk assessment must address fire safety and the method of anchoring the marquee down.
Each vendor is responsible for providing their own fire extinguisher and fire blanket (if applicable)
Prices quoted are for 2 days of trading in total. VAT of 20% will be added.
