Cannon Hall Farm (CHF) and Food Festivals Ltd (FFL) are delighted to be hosting the 4th Food Festival at CHF’s family visitor attraction in Barnsley. CHF is known for its quality farm shop and delicatessen as well as its farm and adventure playground and has won many awards, a recent one being the Tourism Experience of the Year at the Yorkshire Tourist Board White Rose Awards. In 2017 the farm was named Yorkshire’s Favourite Family Attraction in a public vote and it also scooped the White Rose ‘Taste of Yorkshire’ award for its food products. The farm’s very own three cheese sourdough loaf also scooped a Deliciously Yorkshire Taste Award in the same year.
Currently, CHF receives over 300,000 paying visitors each year which excludes the visitors going to the farm shop and restaurant. Heart Radio Yorkshire have again agreed to be media partners for the event, and plans are well underway to increase the size of the Festival and add more entertainment into the mix of what was already on offer during the last 3 festivals.
The event is over 4 days and has craft, health healing and well-being, food product and catering and alcohol exhibitors present - so there is something for everyone. All pitches are on grass and all pitches are 3m x 3m. Marquees are provided, but if you are wanting to use your own marquee, please indicate this on the booking form. Set-up day is on Thursday 23rd August and access is from 7am on festival day. Exhibitor car parking is provided but will not be adjacent to your stand.
The categories of exhibitors are:
- Craft - we consider a craft exhibitor to be: an individual who has a skill in making the entire product by hand.
- Health and Well-being
- Trade - non-catering food products and all other products
- Catering and Alcohol (Please see below for information on non polystyrene packaging that we are introducing this year)
With the introduction and success of 'Pick your Own' for craft (please see definition of craft) and non-catering / trade exhibitors last year we have decided to continue this service. This allows you to pick the marquee or space that you would like to be in. This comes at a higher price than a normal marquee or space, but does allow exhibitors to be in the position they want. These will be done on a first come, first served basis. If the position has already been taken, we will notify you and suggest other options.
For non-catering and craft, if you know that the products within your stand will not fit into a 3m x 3m marquee/space, please ensure that you order 2 marquees/spaces when booking. This will then give you a 6m frontage, allowing the space to showcase your products.
Catering and Alcohol providers: As the festival continues to grow, we are looking at new ways of improving the environmental footprint of the festival. We have been working closely with Joe Holman from Coptrin (firstname.lastname@example.org) to source some quality, but inexpensive solutions to serving food and drink. Joe is in the process of putting together a price list for us so that our exhibitors can benefit. Please get hold of Joe directly and mention that you got the information from ourselves, this will then alert Joe to the pricelist that will be made available to you.
We are again working with Mucmara who will be hosting a Health, healing and wellbeing area. For anyone interested in exhibiting, (who provide hair and beauty services and products, aromatherapy, complementary and alternative therapies, card readings, diet and lifestyle coaching, massage and acupuncture), we just require you to prove you have recognised qualifications where applicable on your application. For further information about exhibiting within the Health, Healing and Wellbeing marquee, please contact Sharon on email@example.com or by phone 07531883803.
We will only accept bookings for all 4 days.
We will have a mobile cash machine on site for visitors to use. There are charges applicable to visitors of £2.95 on every transaction. This is beyond our control and unless an agreed amount of transactions are done, this still costs money to hire in. However, last year the cash machine supplied an extra £45000 into the event that would not have been spent otherwise, so we now consider it an important tool for the success of the event and exhibitors.
We provide overnight security during the event (Thursday - Monday). Whilst we do everything we can to minimise any loss or damage to all the site, the exhibitor still remains responsible for any loss, damage, theft or destruction of any exhibit, goods, property or equipment during the set-up and event days. Please note that all marquees and signage on marquees need to be cleared by Monday evening.
CHF and FFL view this festival as a long term project and will be investing in it year on year so that it becomes an event that attracts both ‘foodies’ and family visitors alike. With the high quality of food that Yorkshire offers, we hope to attract exhibitors of such calibre so that the event becomes a showcase of Yorkshire’s finest.
The event is FREE to visitors and entertainment and seating areas will be provided.
There is a small parking charge for visitors of £5 per car, and this can be redeemed off the ticket price to the farm.
